Par-Baked Bagels Baking Directions

Our par-baked bagels have already been boiled in a kettle and baked in a revolving bagel oven prior to being frozen. A&S Bagels are “traditional New York water bagels” meaning that they are first boiled in a kettle before being baked. The last step in the baking process is for you to “brown” the bagels off in your oven. To finish off our par-baked bagels, you can use a revolving bagel oven, a rack oven, a convection oven, and even pizza ovens. We recommend an oven that can reach at least 500 degrees.

  • Store bagels in freezer until you are ready to bake them.
  • Place bagels on baking tray. Be sure to evenly space out the bagels on the tray.
  • If you allowed time for the bagels to thaw out, you can now place the bagels in a preheated oven set at 475-500 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Bake bagels for three to four minutes, or until the bagels are golden brown. If the bagels are still frozen before baking, bake the bagels for approx. 5 to 7 minutes. All ovens are not the same. Check oven temperature and adjust baking times as needed. Bagels must be fully cooked before consumption. Cook bagels until the internal temperature of the bagels are over 200° Fahrenheit.
